Chinese Welfare Services of SA Inc. provides a wide range of services. We provide information and advice regarding settlement, health, housing,
social security, employment, education and training, childcare, aged care, parenting, relationship issues, consumer rights,
translation and interpreting, community groups, community resources etc. When necessary, referrals will be made so that
our clients can obtain access to appropriate services.We work collaboratively with the mainstream service providers to address the needs of the Chinese
community and the gaps in existing services. We encourage active participation in the main stream activities organised by the government and other organisations.

Australia Day Parade 2012 The Australia Day Council of South Australia hosts some
of the major events in recognition of Australia Day. Australia Day is a day to get together with friends, family and other Australians and
celebrate what's great about this wonderful Country.

Easter Outing 5/04/2012 90 members with staff and volunteers visited the Farm Barn in Hahndoft
Adelaide Hill. We have a good time and learn a lot about the farm animals and farm life. Back to Hahndoft Main Street for lunch with a beautiful all you can eat buffet treat!

Mother’s Day Lunch.15/05/2012 To celebrate the Mother’s Day & members’ birthdays within the month of
April May & June, CWS is having a Special Celebration at the City Zen Restaurant. Adelaide. There are more than 150 people plus special
guests from various organization to attend this function. Every lady received a special Mother’s Day Gift.

Chinese
New Year Festival 2012
Each year, the Chinese New Year celebration falls on the date of the first new moon on the Chinese Lunar calendar, which
can be in late January or early to mid-February. Arrival of the New Year is an important celebration on the Chinese calendar.
The Lunar New Year festival lasts for 15 days.The celebration features traditional entertainment with dragon
and lion dances, local and international performers, cultural exhibitions, history tours and the magnificent Chinese New Year
Imperial Banquet. Photos of

We have structured activities throughout the week: - Ballroom
dancing on Monday evenings.
- Centre based activity group on Tuesday mornings.
- Visiting
group on Wednesday mornings.
- Fitness, Tai Chi, Chi Kung and singing on Friday mornings.
- Advanced
Tai Chi classes on Saturday mornings.
- Different levels of English and Mandarin Language classes
throughout the week
There are other programs of activities ranging from Information sessions, handcraft lessons
and cooking lessons.
We organise information sessions frequently for new Chinese-Australians
in South Australia. Topics of the sessions include wide range of information regarding health, housing, social security, employment,
education, tax, community services, transports, and topics which are concerned by migrants. The aims of the activities are to enhance and maintain members' daily living skills, prevent social isolation and a good
opportunity to make and meet new friends. It is a great way to share our culture and appreciate other cultures.
